Overview

What Is Wan 3.0 Prime?

Wan 3.0 Prime is the accelerated edition of Alibaba's Wan 3.0 video model. Alibaba Cloud added it to Model Studio in August under the model ID wan3.0-video-prime and describes it as offering "significantly faster generation speed while maintaining high-quality output."

It is not a cut-down model. Prime keeps the full Wan 3.0 feature set — text to video, image to video, first and last frame control, image, video and audio references, native audio and clips of up to 30 seconds at up to 1080P. What changes is turnaround time and price. Alibaba has not published an exact speed multiple, so treat any specific "x times faster" claim with caution. Whether you have seen it written as wan 3 prime, wan3.0 prime or Wan 3.0 Video Prime, it is the same model.

Which one should you use?

Choose Prime when time matters more than cost: reacting to a trending moment, iterating on drafts during a live session, or any job where someone is waiting on the result. Choose standard Wan 3.0 when you are rendering in bulk or polishing a final cut with no deadline, because its per-second rate is lower.

Since quality and features match, you give up nothing creatively either way. XImagineAI runs the Prime edition, so the faster option is the one you get — billed per second in the same credits you use for every other model.

Use cases

What You Can Make With Wan 3.0 Prime

Four jobs Wan 3.0 Prime handles well — a long take, a multi-shot ad, lip sync and reference video — each with a prompt you can copy straight into the generator.

01Long take

30-second cinematic long take

Set Duration to 30 seconds and describe a single continuous camera move from start to finish. Need more than one 30-second take? Chain clips in the long video tool.

One continuous 30-second take, no cuts. Dawn over a misty fishing harbour: the camera starts low on wet wooden planks, glides past coiled ropes and a sleeping cat, rises over the boats as gulls lift off, and ends on a wide view of the sun breaking through the fog. Gentle handheld drift, natural film grain, ambient sound of water, gulls and distant engines.
02Multi-shot

Multi-shot product ad

Write timestamps into the prompt to split one generation into separate shots. Fifteen seconds comfortably fits three beats: detail, use, hero frame.

15-second product ad for a stainless steel water bottle, three shots. [0-5s] Close-up: condensation runs down the bottle on a mossy rock beside a mountain stream, morning light. [5-10s] Medium shot: a hiker pulls the bottle from a backpack side pocket and drinks, camera tracks alongside. [10-15s] Hero shot: the bottle centred on the rock, slow push-in, empty space on the right for text. Upbeat acoustic music, crisp foley.
03Lip sync

Talking character with lip sync

Keep Audio on, put the exact line in quotes and ask for lip sync. One or two short sentences sync most reliably.

Medium close-up of a fictional ship's captain in a weathered navy coat at the helm during a storm, rain streaming down. She looks into the camera and says: "Hold fast — we ride this one out together." Accurate lip sync, raised voice over howling wind and creaking timber, lightning briefly lights her face.
04Reference video

Photo + reference video to motion

In reference mode, upload a character photo as Image 1 and a short movement clip as Video 1, then say which is which. Want exact start and end poses instead? Use first-and-last-frame mode.

Image 1 is the character, Video 1 is the movement reference. The character from Image 1 performs the dance moves from Video 1 on a rooftop at sunset with the city skyline behind, face and outfit stay consistent with Image 1, the camera slowly orbits, warm golden light, upbeat music.

How it works

How to Use Wan 3.0 Prime Online in 3 Steps

No Alibaba Cloud account, API key or local GPU — Wan 3.0 Prime text to video and image to video both run in your browser.

  1. 1

    Pick Wan 3.0 Prime

Open the generator at the top of this page. Wan 3.0 Prime is already selected: use the Text to Video tab for prompt-only clips, or Image to Video to start from a picture.

  2. 2

Upload an image or write a prompt

For text to video, describe the subject, action, camera and sound. For image to video, add a first frame (and optionally a last frame), or switch to reference mode and attach up to 10 images plus video and audio clips.

  3. 3

Choose duration and resolution, then generate

Pick 2–30 seconds, 480P to 1080P and an aspect ratio. The Generate button shows the exact credit cost before you confirm, and the finished video lands in your history.

Prompt tips

Wan 3.0 Prime Prompt Tips

Six habits that make Wan 3.0 Prime prompts land on the first or second try.

  1. 1

    Write shots and timestamps

Label each beat with a time range such as [0-5s] and [5-10s]. The model follows explicit cut points far better than vague words like "then" or "later".

  2. 2

Name references as Image 1, Video 1, Audio 1

Match the order you uploaded them, and say what each one controls — the character, the motion, the voice — so nothing is left to guesswork.

  3. 3

    Ask for lip sync explicitly

When a character speaks, quote the line and add "lip sync". Keep the Audio switch on; with it off you get a silent clip.

  4. 4

Draft at 480P, finish at 1080P

For a 30-second video, test the camera move at 480P first — roughly a quarter of the 1080P cost — then re-run the winning prompt at 1080P with the same seed for a closer match.

  5. 5

    Describe motion precisely

"Walks" is weak. "Strides left to right, coat flapping, glances back over her shoulder at the 4-second mark" is strong. Give speed, direction and what the camera does.

  6. 6

    One idea per clip

Long prompts are fine, but stacking unrelated scenes into one generation dilutes all of them. Split separate ideas into separate clips.

FAQ

Wan 3.0 Prime FAQ

What is Wan 3.0 Prime?

Wan 3.0 Prime (model ID wan3.0-video-prime) is the accelerated version of Alibaba's Wan 3.0 video model, released on Alibaba Cloud Model Studio in August. According to Alibaba it generates significantly faster while keeping the same output quality and the same features as standard Wan 3.0: text to video, image to video, first and last frame control, image, video and audio references, and native audio. Clips run from 2 to 30 seconds at 480P, 720P or 1080P. You can use it in the browser on XImagineAI without an Alibaba Cloud account or API key.

What is the difference between Wan 3.0 and Wan 3.0 Prime?

They share one feature set and the same output quality. Prime is significantly faster — Alibaba has not published an exact multiple — and its official API price is about 40% higher per second. Alibaba recommends Prime for time-sensitive work such as reacting to trending moments, producing live drafts, or jobs where someone is waiting on the result, and standard Wan 3.0 for batch rendering and finished pieces without a deadline. The generator on this page runs the Prime edition.

How long can Wan 3.0 Prime videos be?

Each generation can be 2 to 30 seconds long, in 1-second steps. If you add reference videos (up to 15 seconds combined), their length counts toward the same 30-second limit, so a 10-second reference leaves room for up to 20 seconds of output. A Wan 3.0 Prime 30-second video at 1080P costs 2,193 credits on this site. For anything longer than a single take, generate several clips and join them, or use the long video generation tool.

Does Wan 3.0 Prime generate audio and lip sync?

Yes. Native audio is on by default and adds ambience, sound effects, music and speech that match the picture. For dialogue, put the spoken line in quotes and add "lip sync" to your prompt; short lines of one or two sentences sync most reliably. You can also upload up to five reference audio clips (15 seconds combined) to guide a voice or soundtrack, or turn audio off if you only need a silent clip.

Is Wan 3.0 Prime open source? Can I run it in ComfyUI?

No. Earlier Wan releases such as Wan 2.1 and Wan 2.2 published open weights, but Wan 3.0 and its Prime edition are offered only through Alibaba Cloud's API. There are no official weights to download, so you cannot run it locally in ComfyUI. The upside is that you do not need a local GPU either: on X Imagine AI it runs online in your browser and you pay per second of video in credits.

How much does Wan 3.0 Prime cost?

Alibaba Cloud's Singapore-region list price is $0.068 per second at 480P, $0.14 at 720P and $0.28 at 1080P, about 40% more than standard Wan 3.0. On XImagineAI you pay in credits per second instead: a 5-second clip costs 89 credits at 480P, 183 at 720P and 366 at 1080P, and the Generate button shows the exact amount before you confirm. No Alibaba Cloud account or API key is needed.

Can I use Wan 3.0 Prime for free?

Not unlimited — no provider offers that, including the official API. New accounts here receive 10 free credits (4 in some regions) and 3 more credits for each daily check-in. The cheapest Prime clip, 2 seconds at 480P, costs 36 credits, so you can save up check-in credits for a short test, use the free credits on cheaper models first, or buy a credit pack for longer 1080P takes.
